 DIear Community,
hope you have been enjoying your summer! There is still some time to take that last get away before school starts.
My husband and I had the opportunity on July 4th weekend to spend in Fredericksburg, Texas. If you have never been there for a getaway, I recommend giving it a try. Driving up was nice to see the hills and especially this year, with all the rain, we had a lot of greenery to see along the way. We stayed at Barons Creekside. It was such a quaint property with cabins that look like little farmhouses. Two creeks run through the property. They even have a vineyard! We tried their wine at their restaurant called The Club. We enjoyed having a glass of wine, appetizers while enjoying live entertainment. We would definetly go back and highly recommend staying there. I enjoyed walking through the property and seeing the cabins that are all so unique. It was so peaceful there.
We also enjoyed shopping on Main Street and having the opportunity to try some German food. Some of the restaurants we tried was Auslander. I tried the Jagerschnitzel, the beer battered mushrooms and my husband had the flame grilled ribeye which was so tender and juicy! It was one of the best steaks we ever tasted! Yes, I tried it and wish I had
ordered the ribeye! We both agreed to drive up for dinner for the steak. It was that good! The other restaurants we tried was Altdorf Biergarten and sat out on the patio. They also offer live music in the patio area.
I enjoyed an amazing watermelon salad, and a corned beef sandwich called the Red Baron. It was delicious! There are many places in Fredericksburg that are dog friendly, too, by the way. We took our Pomeranian with us, and we were thankful that we purchased a pet stroller which made it easier to go shopping with him as well as out to eat.
We hope to do a short getaway, again, before the summer is out.
