Reagan Orchestra Named Second Runner Up In Orchestra CupBTy Kathi Holzschuherhe Reagan High School orchestra competed in the National Orchestra Cup in NYC in March,and won second runner up.Founded in 2002, The National OrchestraCup is an annual, invitation-only orchestral competition held at Lincoln Center in New York City. Only the best school orchestra programs receive invitations. This year The Reagan High School orchestra was one of the honored few to receive a call.WBy Melinda Mattisone congratulate outstandingReagan High School JROTCsenior, battalion commander cadet Lieutenant Colonel, Matthew Muehlberger. JROTC became a place for strong connections and success. Matthew’s hard work has paid handsomely as he was awarded the Four-Year Army ROTC comprehensive scholarship to Texas A&MUniversity!Matthew also received the NationalMerit Commended status for his PSAT scores, is a member of the National Honor Society and graduates Summa Cum Laude.Muehlberger thanks the program’s instructors, LTC Livingston and Master Sergeant Tijerina, for making Reagan’s program outstanding. He said he owes agreat deal of thanks to them for helping him achieve such success. He went on to thank his parents, peers, and teachers for their steadfast supportMuehlberger suggests teens find their passion and stick with it. “A really important part of high school is just figuring out what you love and are going to do with your life. There’s a sense of accomplishment in doing well, but there’s an even greater sense of accomplishment in doing well at somethingyou love.”In addition to his love for JROTC,Matthew enjoys spending time outdoors rock climbing and hiking local trails.Matthew plans to study Mechanical Engineering at A&M and later commission into the Army after graduation.
