OVID-19 has changed the way we celebrate our favorite holidays and life’s special moments. However,
many local businesses and organizations have adapted, organizing socially distanced, virtual, and at-home opportunities to have fun while staying safe. Here are a few ways to conscientiously celebrate Valentine’s Day around the Alamo City and in the comfort of your own home.
Extended Holiday Lights on the River Walk: The famous holiday lights on the River Walk have been extended this year! Enjoy the lights through Valentine’s Day 2021. Lights will remain on from dusk to dawn each night. FREE.
San Antonio Botanical Garden Valentine’s Day Market: Love is in the air! Shop at the Valentine’s Day Market with your valentine or galentine surrounded by February blooms at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The market will showcase local and regional retailers and visiting arts and craft vendors. Guests are asked to follow all COVID-19 visitor guidelines during their visit. Visit for more information.
Briscoe Western Art Museum: Join the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s McNutt Sculpture Garden or virtually for Sips and Sounds of the West, a Valentine’s Day date night, on February 12 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Enjoy live music and dinner from a food truck on site while you and you and your sweetheart indulge in chocolate dipped strawberries and a Pony Express Love Letters calligraphy kit. Prefer to stay home? Bring Sips and Sounds of the West to your home on the range. Enjoy a livestream of the concert and pick up the in-person bundle of fun (this includes the chocolate dipped strawberries and the Pony Express Love Letters calligraphy kit)!    Mammen Family Public Library Hosts Valentine’s Day Themed Events

area in Bulverde, continues to host online events to engage, inspire, and teach. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, the library has scheduled three fun, themed events for children, teens, and adults of all ages. This is just a small preview of the classes available. Saturday, February 13 from 10 am to 6 pm
Turn off those screens and tap into your
creative side! Create a bit of ambiance for your romantic Valentines dinner with these easy to make rose votive candle holders. Supplies and step-by-step instructions will be provided and available to pick up beginning Saturday, February 13. For teens and adults. Registration is required.
2. Valentine’s Day Embroidery Techniques with Lucy
Saturday, February 13 from 10 am to 12 pm
Come learn embroidery techniques to create a fun Valentine’s Day project. Follow together with Lucy in her live Zoom class. What you’ll need to participate:
• 12” square white or light fabric
• Print pattern for tracing
• Various colors of embroidery floss
• 8” hoop
• Embroidery needle

   Mitchell’s Landing - Where Play Has No Limit

his fall, a destination pirate-themed playground, and San Antonio’s first inclusive playground, will open
in the 20000 block of Hardy Oak Parkway, set within the new Classen-Steubing Ranch Park. The playground will be named Mitchell’s Landing in memory of Mitchell Chang, a very special little boy who passed away in 2018.
Mitchell’s Landing needs your help to design the mermaid tails that little pirates will see on their adventures at Mitchell’s Landing. The Mitchell Chang Foundation will select five mermaid tail designs to be recreated at the H-E-B Mermaid Lagoon.
