Mensan Studios: Your One-Stop Creative & Marketing Shop
CBy Alissa Reinhard
reativity and vision certainly run in the Mendez and Santos family. Nearly 20 years ago, Brenda Santos
and her parents founded what began as a photography business and has now grown into a one-stop creative shop for not only photography, but also apparel, accessories, branding materials, yard signs, and much, much more.
Mensan Studios, still family-owned and operated nearly two decades later, combines the creative drive, graphic design skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of the “Men”dez and “San”tos families (the inspiration behind the Mensan name).
“Our name, Mensan Studios, is very meaningful to me,” explained Brenda. “It literally means family. Our name is on everything we do so it’s very important that our work represents us well.”
Mensan Studios offers multiples services including business, real estate, and portrait photography; custom-made apparel and accessories including t-shirts, coffee mugs, hats, face masks, and more; embroidery; personalized yard signs; business cards; logo and graphic design; video content; banners; posters; and more. Brenda has worked hard to ensure that her clients can find all their branding and marketing needs in one location.
“I remember when I was starting my

business I was having to run over here to get my business cards printed and then all the way across town to get t-shirts designed, all while going to school and raising my kids,” explained Brenda. “I decided that I wanted to create a business where people can get all of that done – and more – in just one place.”
Whether you’re looking for a unique item designed for personal use or marketing materials for your business, the products created and designed by Mensan Studios are useful, effective, impactful, and long- lasting.
“We really pride ourselves on having high quality, professional-grade products,”
explained Brenda. “And we give a lot to delivering personal customer service. Every client is important, whether they’re ordering one t-shirt or 500 at a time.”
In order to ensure the highest quality designs, Mensan Studios recently invested in a Direct to Garment (DTG) printer which can print full color images directly on a t-shirt making it a less expensive option than screen prints. The DTG printing method is precise, produces high-quality results, and a lightweight, more comfortable t-shirt. In other exciting news, Mensan Studios is also now authorized to carry Siser Vinyl, one of the nation’s leading producers of screen printing supplies, thermal transfer materials, and heat transfer paper.
“The new technology and additions
to our business have inspired us to make a major announcement for the New Year,” added Brenda. “We will soon be opening our studio to the public. So, individuals who are crafting at home but don’t have certain supplies or entrepreneurs who want to start their own business but don’t have the budget to invest on new technology are all welcome!”
Whatever your creative or marketing needs, Mensan Studios can bring them to life. There’s no request too big or too small. Mensan Studios can make it happen! For more information, visit mensanstudios. com, @mensanstudios on Facebook, or call 210-737-6275.
      Local Businesswoman Honored
With PTA Award

n early December, the Hardy Oak PTA surprised local businesswoman and philanthropist Kim Tucker
with a special award: an Honorary Life Membership Award. This award is one of the highest forms of recognition for a Texas PTA volunteer. Award winners are advocates for children’s education, health, and well-being.
Kim, the owner of local bakery Nothing Bundt Cakes, was presented with her award at her home during a special award ceremony.
“Usually, we hold a ceremony during a PTA meeting and each award winner is surprised with their family in attendance,” explained Stefanie Van de Vate Hardy Oak PTA President. “But this year, due to COVID-19, we couldn’t host a large event, so we took to the streets and surprised each recipient at their home.”
Kim was nominated by fellow Hardy Oak PTA volunteer and Life Membership Award winner Amy Burroughs. During the ceremony, Amy read a “Recipe for an Amazing Volunteer,” a dedication speech she had prepared in honor of Kim.
“Volunteers come in all flavors, shapes, and sizes,” Amy’s speech read apart. “Today we are here to honor the most amazing and dedicate volunteer around.”

In December, Kim Tucker, owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes and a Hardy Oak PTA volunteer, was surprised at her home with a Texas PTA Honorary Life Membership Award.
Over the years, Kim has donated all the cakes for the Hardy Oak Elementary Fall Festival’s cake walk. She has also donated cakes, organized, and volunteered at teacher luncheons, the annual Bike Rodeo, and Hardy Oak Field Days.
“Kim rarely says no,” said Stephanie. “She has been such an asset to Hardy Oak PTA’s success. Everything she puts her hand in turns to gold. She is truly amazing.”
