or over 15 years, Promotion Physical Therapy has helped people get back to the things they love by
providing a high quality of care in a positive and encouraging environment. A private practice, outpatient physical therapy clinic servicing San Antonio and surrounding areas, Promotion Physical Therapy promotes the physical wellbeing of every patient.
2020 was a challenging year for everyone, but the team at Promotion Physical Therapy has adapted and overcome.
“We have a good handle on how to operate in a safe and effective way,” explained Justin Martindale, Founder and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Promotion Physical Therapy. “From offering virtual services to changing the layout of our clinics to allow for proper social distancing, we will do whatever it takes to keep our employees and patients safe. There’s been many layers in how the pandemic has affected our company, we strengthened some of our policies and procedures and are stronger for it.”
Promotion Physical Therapy has four convenient locations including one in Stone Oak. Locally owned and operated, Promotion Physical Therapy sees patients ages six and up and provides effective outpatient orthopedic treatment for any joint or soft tissue injury including back/neck pain; hip, knee, and ankle injuries; overuse injuries; shoulder and elbow injuries; sprains and strains; total hip/knee replacement, and more.
Each physical therapist at Promotion PT is required to complete a rigorous, three- year fellowship training: The Fellowship of the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapist (FAAOMPT).
“Locally, we are one of the only practices that requires our physical therapists to
Dr. Justin Martindale
complete this fellowship,” said Martindale. “It takes a lot of extra time and energy, but it is instrumental in helping our therapists develop the most effective skills that are going to help get our patients better faster.”
At Promotion Physical Therapy, patients are always seen by the same physical therapist for individualized continuity of care. Promotion Physical Therapy also offers Manual Therapy, TMJ treatment, Aquatic Therapy, Vestibular Therapy, Sportsmetrics, Concussion Rehabilitation, Dry Needling, and more. “We can also help women who may be experiencing back pain or sciatica due to pregnancy or postpartum,” added Martindale.
“Believe it or not, almost everybody could benefit from a good physical therapist. As adults, we do so many things repetitively, and that can take a toll. If we can improve the simple things, like the way that you sit at your desk or the way that you walk, it’s going to minimize the load on your body, which means you’re going to be able to do it longer, with less pain, and significantly less potential of developing long-term issues.”
Everyone is entitled to live a full life uninhibited by pain or discomfort. The team of skilled physical therapists put their hearts into their work, giving patients the care they deserve.
“Recently, I had a patient who was limited in her ability to stand and walk,” said Martindale. “She had been to a different physical therapist for a total of 19 visits with no improvement. After three visits with us,
options, hoodies, headbands, blankets and Pura Vida bracelets are available to pre- order at Orders placed by Monday, February 15th are guaranteed pre-game delivery.

an’s Foundation was formed in
memory of Ian Fincke who passed
away tragically at the age of 16 from a traumatic brain injury sustained during a skate boarding accident in Stone Oak in 2008. The foundation was formed to advance the safety and welfare of San Antonio youth through education and scholarship awards. The foundation continues to provide helmet safety talks at local schools throughout San Antonio and is continuing their helmet safety campaign launched in 2020 with this year’s goal of providing an additional 3,000 helmets to San Antonio youth in 2021.
Ian’s passion for the game of soccer was the inspiration behind the upcoming 12th Annual Ian’s Cup event to be held on Friday, March 5th in his memory. The RHS and JHS girl’s game will kick off the
event at 5PM at Blossom Athletic Center followed by the boy’s game at 7PM. The school with the highest aggregate score for the night will take home the coveted Ian’s Cup Trophy and bragging rights for the year. Scholarships will be awarded post-game to four deserving seniors. In addition, four separate $500 donations will be made to local organizations selected by each of the scholarship winners to allow underprivileged individuals the ability to play soccer (including wheelchair soccer) or to provide helmets to those in need. Due to COVID-19 restrictions Ian’s Foundation will be unable to host the traditional soccer clinic fundraiser this year but instead will be offering a virtual “Gift Card Pull” when an online Ian’s Cup t-shirt/apparel order is placed as a way to raise money for the scholarship awards.
